today...

We had such a wonderful time visiting with a couple that we met at the market. They came and had a meal with us. They are such fun people and are enjoyable to be with. I am so thankful that God brought them into our lives.
This week I cleaned and organized my room and stored away my winter clothes.
I have been gathering wild herbs for tisanes and infusions in the winter. I am drying them in the loft in my room and also on the herb drying racks that are in my room. I have been doing sewing, sewing little pants, shirts and dresses. So far I have two dresses and three pants and three shirts. I am working on another dress. I am making them all out of my old clothes that I don't want any more. I am storing them away for little ones that may come into my life that may need them. Mama has been doing alot of baking and making things for our "bread Today" customers. Alot of people came today to pick up their stuff. It is so nice to see pleasant smiling faces. I am so happy! Jesus is my joy! He brought me out to bring me in He broke the power of death and sin I needed someone to come and reign within, and now I'm free this very hour alive by faith and filled with power, Christ Jesus brought me out so He could bring me in. He has done it! He is alive in me! I will keep my focus on Him. I can look to and think about something that I want, and want right now. That can take my eyes off of Him and what He has for me right now. He knows my desires and what my heart is longing for and He knows that in His time He will bring me to the place that He is preparing me for.

late posting... So.. It might be a little rambling...

I made feta, and yogurt today. In between times of waiting for the cheese making, I did my nalbinding. I am almost done with the second sock. Last saturday my nalbinding teacher taught me a new stitch it is called the Åsle stitch( pro: ÅL ). The stitch that I am doing on my sock is one that I made up. The Åsle stitch is very fun to do so I am hurrying up on my sock so I can start somthing new with the Åsle stitch. I am thinking of doing a pair of socks for Izzy. Speaking of Izzy, My sister and bro-in -law (and the boys: Buddy and Izzy) came over this evening. She came to pick up a kombucha mushroom. I reacived in the mail this week two kombucha mushrooms from my friend Cora Beth. I am excited to try my hand at making kombucha tea! My sister also gave me some of her mold ripened cheeses to try out, They were really good. Me and her enjoy sharing cheese and cheese making tips and recipes that we come up with. It is alot of fun.
I have been locking up the kids in a triangular pen that I put in the fence. So then I can have full udders to milk in the morning. And now I have milk to make cheese! I got a order last week to make some cheese for some friends that we know. I am going to be making feta and other mold ripened cheeses. That is why I made yogurt today, for that is what I use for culture. Yesterday while at the market me and hannah and Olivia went yard-sailing. I found a really nice big pice of unbleached muslin. On the way home from the market we stopped at Junque&Necessities Shoppe. There I got a skirt and a shirt. then we stopped at the flea market to see if we could find a angel food cake pan. we did! And we got icecream there too. I got a really nice bowl there too.
When we got home I tried on the skirt it fit very nicely then I tried on the shirt and it was to small. so I let Hannah try it on and it was too small for her. So, today I gave it to my older sister when she came and it fits her! I told her it can be a early B-day gift from me to her. Her B-day is in a couple a weeks, today was a fine day. I had a slight sore throat last night and a little bit today. I ate some spoonfuls of raw honey and a clove of garlic and swallowed a C capsule. and drank lots of tea at dinner. Oh and should say that I might be making nan for a friend who has a food stand in T.C. I have been thinking about that and how it will all work out for me to get up there and help her out. I am going to be working for her on the 13 of June. There is a dairy fest at the commons that our family is going to be at. My friend is setting up her food stand at the fest and I am going to help her. She is going to be doing either Mexican,Armenian, or Indian foods. All my favorites! I really like making food and doing fun stuff with family and friends. So, I am really looking forward to that day! Well I better get to bed... Or do should I keep rambling on?... I am tired... But should I write more? Do you like this post? Comment please!!!!! Oh and one more thing: My friend Elizabeth( yes I am quite fond of that name and am quite fond of her ) has a blog and she really wants more people to visit and comment on her blog, so please go over there now and leave a comment. She is such a sweet friend. Go here@ leaningonjesussafefromallalarms.blogspot.com

The cheeses that my sis brought over for me to try
They were good!
Mama made perogis
Me and hannah both found some really nice baskets at an estate sale on friday on way back from T.C. village market
Also at there, there was a spinning wheel that I tried out. I did not get it for it was a flax wheel and that spool was too small for the amount of yarn that I like to make at a time. But it was fun to try out, becouse the people had never seen a wheel used, so that was nice that I was able to show them. They enjoyed it. One older man comes up and the other older man says:" Look She's goin' ta make us'a blanket! "
Look at this beautiful raw cheddar. It tasted really good! Our friends were selling their own goat's milk cheeses at the market. They have a small goat dairy and cheese house and they are making some really great cheeses!
I'll probley be posting pictures of my socks when they are done. So until whenever...

birthday pictures

Daddy gave me this beautiful bouquet
Cards from both of my grandparents
Grandpa and Grandma called and sang happy birthday
I read one of Hannah's books.
I made dinner for the family. David's homemade Brats from Enoch's pasture grown hogs. Crusty natural leaven rolls baked in the clay oven. Potato salad.

While I was making dinner, My dear friends Grace & Olivia came. Me and Hannah went with them to Nate's to get Icecream.
(from left to right Olivia,Hannah,Grace,Me)
We took our icecream down to the river. We had a fun time on the bridge. It is a miniature of the Mackinac bridge.
Hannah took alot of pictures. I will always remember this time I had with my dear sisters
The sound of the river flowing was so refreshing to my ears. There was light mist on the water. Two geese flew overhead.
We stayed until it was dark.
then we came home.
I was just going to open up my gifts when the neighbor girls came over with a gift...
Puppy chow! Yummy! The last time I had this chocolate covered yummer was five years ago.
It was so sweet of them to bring it over. It made my birthday extra special.

This cute night light and recipe book is from Grace & Olivia
Mama put my favorite place to get basket making materials, into a beautiful pastel art piece.
David gave me seeds. I was so surprised! I had know idea that he ordered them. Just for me! It makes me feel so special!
Nathanael gave me these gardening tools. They will come in very handy!
Enoch gave me a book about how to identify poisonous plants and how to stay away from them and what they will do to you if you don't!
I forgot to get a picture. the book is green and old fashioned like.
And last of all but not at all the least. The gift given to me by Hannah.
I like this one so much!
Well that is all, plus what my older sister gave me a few days ago.
It was a very special day because I was with all the special people that God has brought into my life and brought me into theirs. On other birthdays family and friends have asked me if I feel older.
This time I do.

I never know what to title it!

Here are some pictures of my doings today. Yes, they are kitchen pictures! Just for you Cora!
I seared and baked a chicken,
Made more bread,
~just put in the oven~
I am having so much fun making this bread. I finally got it down pat. All the credits go to my teacher, my dear mother. She is the top baker around here and it is because of her that I have been able to learn how to make and manage this art.

~now out of the oven to cool~
baked squash & potatoes,
did some kniting on a...
Knitting that I started yesterday
Baby cap! There is a baby shower on the 6th and I am making this gift for our friend who is going to have their third girl.
I am almost done with it and I am going to make some booties to go with.
David making pepperoni
My older brother has been working on butchering a hog for our sister and brother-in-law.

Well that is all the pictures that I took today to share with you,
I also did a little tidying of my room, I hardly ever get it totally tidy!
I worked on a really hard puzzle that my friend had on her blog if you would like to do it click HERE it is really fun!
I made a mattress this week for my self out of straw and a big sheet of strong muslin. So I guess. you could call it a straw-tick like They had in the days of Auld Lang Syne
It feels really comfy! I had been sleeping on a sleeping bag for four years. I liked it alot but I just wanted a change for a while. I like to have things as simple as possible. So don't feel bad for me at all for not having an American style bed.
Well good night
I am off to hit the hay, well in my case It would be straw!
good night my friends!
